After graduating with an honours degree in design in 2016, Simon has been working as a UX designer with several companies ever since.

A voracious learner, Simon's mission is to be an all-in-one designer by pursuing knowledge in the fields of psychology, marketing, data analytics, computer science, art composition, 3D modelling, texturing and animation along side a growing knowledge of UX fundamentals.

These sets of skills are particularly apt for XR and 3D development for mobile and web applications.


2018 - Present: Product Designer at Like a Photon.

Launched 2 game titles as a product designer, as well as generating and testing multiple product ideas in the areas of web, mobile & AR application. Responsibilities Include:

  • Primary & secondary user research including interviews, creating persona's and analysis of demographic & marketing data.
  • Wireframing and creation of functional low-fidelity prototypes in adobe XD and C#. Creating and presenting design proposals for stake holder consideration.
  • Creating data taxonomies and dashboards on user behaviour, marketing performance and financial viability.
  • Visual & UI Design of various products, Including production development.
  • Reviewing and providing recommendations on internal processes for higher productivity.
  • Currently working on new project development for associated IP.

    2017 - 2018: Customer Experience designer at Austek Play

    Redesigning Customer experience and presentation visuals as well as designing Children's playgrounds to Australian Standards. Redesign resulted in an 80% increase in revenue from the previous year as well as a maximum of 24 concurrent client jobs, up from a maximum of 6 the previous year.

    2014 - 2020: Various Free Lancing

    Two weeks notice to help bring a virtual reality web application to a higher visual fidelity. Application included a real time visualisation of a Readify client scientific campus. Included optimisation and in-engine implementation, delivered on time.

    Working with existing assets to improve the visual fidelity and performance of an HMD AR Application used to help design Helicopter loadouts.

    Worked closely with Evolve Scientific Recruitment during my thesis year to undertake an analysis on the usability of their worker induction process. Thesis involved providing solutions on how to improve induction completion rates and attentiveness.

    Working in the initial design stages to bring a Dream World theme park ride to life. Working with a brief to visualise potential designs. Finished work can be experienced via the Dream World Tail Spin ride.

    Majoring in Industrial Design at the Queensland University of Technology.

    2016 Black Belt Yoshinkan Aikido

    Internationally accredited Shodan ranking in the martial art of Yoshinkan Aikido.
